How It Works

Getting started with Weaverly. Everything after that is Weaverly doing the work.

Your setup is important. Everything Weaverly surfaces for you afterwards is built on your input. The good news is that setup is straightforward and Weaverly helps walk you through each step. That said, do spend some time reflecting on what you want to share with Weaverly to help identify your Needs and Offers. And if you have personal notes about your contacts, add those too. Here is a quick overview of the setup process.

Step 1, Build Your Profile

We suggest you gather documents that describe you, such as your resume, bio, LinkedIn profile, or personal goals document, as well as a CSV file of your contacts before you begin. Weaverly will help walk you through each step.

Upload your resume, LinkedIn profile, bio, a one-pager, or any professional document that describes what you do. Then upload anything that describes what you are looking for, a goals document, a target list, roles you are hiring for.

One thing worth saying clearly: your documents are not posted anywhere. They are not shown to anyone. Weaverly reads them the way a person would read a stack of paper and write a summary. You review everything it produces before any of it is used.

Weaverly needs about ten minutes to produce your profile. Bring your documents.

Step 2, Review Your Offers and Needs

Weaverly reads your material and proposes two lists: your Offers, what you can provide, and your Needs, what you are looking for. You review each one, confirm it, edit it, or remove it. Nothing is final until you say so.

Most people find things they had forgotten they could offer.

Weaverly needs about five minutes to create your Needs and Offers.

Step 3, Import Your Contacts

Bring your network in. Import from LinkedIn, HubSpot, a CSV, or add contacts by hand. Import broadly, a contact you have not spoken to in four years is exactly the kind of relationship Weaverly is built to surface. Curating your list down to people you talk to regularly defeats the purpose.

Weaverly processes your contacts in five to ten minutes once you have files uploaded. If you are importing from LinkedIn, allow time for LinkedIn to send you your export file. It usually arrives within ten minutes but can take up to twenty-four hours.

Step 4, See Your Woven Connections

Weaverly shows you which of your contacts are already on the platform. These are your woven connections, people who keep their own profile current, so the matches Weaverly finds involving them are based on what is true today, not what you last knew about them.

Processing time: two to five minutes.

Step 5, Take Your First Action

Weaverly gives you one thing to do so you can see how the product actually works before you leave setup. It takes about a minute.

Step 6, Your Dashboard

Setup is done. From here, the routine is simple: open Weaverly once a day, look at your five nudges in Connect, glance at your Opportunities, act on what is real, and close the tab.

Weaverly is built to be glanced at, not scrolled. If you are spending a long time in it, something is off.

Common Questions About Getting Started

How long does setup take?

Setup time varies depending on how much information you want to upload about yourself and your contacts. Most people complete the core setup in thirty to sixty minutes. Weaverly walks you through each step, and nothing is permanent until you confirm it.

Do I need to have my contacts in a specific format?

No. You can import from LinkedIn, HubSpot, a CSV file, or add contacts by hand one at a time. Whatever format your network lives in right now is fine as a starting point.

What if my profile does not look right after Profile Discovery runs?

Everything Profile Discovery produces is a starting point, not a final record. You can approve, edit, or delete any item. Your profile is always yours to adjust.

Do my contacts get notified when I add them to Weaverly?

No. Adding a contact to Weaverly is private. Your contacts are not notified and nothing is sent to them. Weaverly never contacts your network on your behalf.

What if I want to come back and add more contacts later?

You can add contacts at any time. The more of your network you bring in, the more useful Weaverly becomes, so adding in batches over time works well.

How do I keep information about my contacts current?

After a call, coffee, or meeting, open the contact and add a note about what you discussed, what they are working on, or what they need. You can keep it short or paste in more detailed notes, an email, or even a call transcript. For static contacts, you can also run Discovery using that new information to update the Offers and Needs Weaverly uses to find relevant opportunities.

Can I add more to my Offers and Needs after the initial setup?

Yes. You can add items manually at any time. Weaverly also offers a questionnaire that helps you dig deeper into your Offers and Needs if you want more guidance. Complete it, upload it, and run Profile Discovery again. Your Offers and Needs are always live and editable as your career changes and evolves.

Can someone receive a Weaverly introduction if they are not on the platform?

Yes. If you choose to make the introduction yourself outside of Weaverly, through email or any other way that feels right, that works too. Weaverly identifies the match and brings it to you. What you do with it is always your call.
